Over the Caribbean....

Over the Caribbean!....
I failed to mention in the last post that yesterday had a kind of “miracle” for me….or should I say it WAS a MIRACLE!? I had gone to the grocery store to get some cash for the trip…bought something small and got an extra $200, then I bought something else small and got another $200 cash. I wanted more cash so I drove by the ATM and when I put in my card, I noticed it went in VERY slowly…so I commented to Kit.. “Boy it makes me nervous to see the machine eat my card so slowly.” I got my cash, then noticed the screen remind me to take my receipt. I did so, and at that same moment Kit says she reminded me to get the card…but I guess I thought she was referring to the receipt and I said “I have it.” Two stores later when I went to pay for our mid-afternoon snack, I noticed the ATM card was not in my wallet! I felt so stupid! But there was nothing we could do. We prayed as we began to eat that it might be resolved easily…but I confess I didn’t have much faith. After the meal we walked to the car and I said, “Well the Lord COULD put it in the car.” And I did have flicker of hope! Well NO card in the car. But we both agreed we should drive by the actual ATM…now an hour or more later. I KNOW those machines usually eat/keep the card if it is pushed out and not taken almost immediately so I figured if it was there it would be on the ground! I drove in and scanned the pavement from the car. But Kit got out and walked to the machine. She is not tall and the machine was…I probably would NOT have double checked her inspection figuring she’d have seen it in the slot….the only place I could imagine it would be. When she walked back…she didn’t say anything…but held out the card. Someone had found it in the slot….and put it ON TOP of the machine! Praise the Lord!

  1. So glad to hear that you found the card - what a HUGE relief that must have been!

All the best on the trip - we'll be following from the cyber-lines.
